Describe symptoms and timing
Photograph the whole area and close details. Note whether movement is isolated or widespread, whether water collects only after heavy rain, and whether nearby roots, drains or building work may be relevant.

Local repair versus rebuilding
A small defect with a sound surrounding build-up may be locally repairable. Repeated failure, widespread movement, poor levels or an unsuitable base can make piecemeal work false economy. The decision should follow inspection.

Match materials carefully
Existing paving may have weathered or gone out of production. Record unit dimensions, thickness, surface and colour range, and agree whether a close blend, deliberate contrast or broader replacement is acceptable.
